One of the latest confirmed cars for the Goodwood Festival of Speed this year is the Peugeot 907 concept car. Unlike many such flights of fantasy (which let's face it, is all the 907 is), this concept is a runner and will take part in the 'Supercar Run' on 8th and 9th of July.
The Peugeot 907 concept marries a sleek, two-seat grand touring coupe with a large glasshouse (the front windscreen, roof and rear window appear to be one) and a distinctive Peugeot nose that at the concept's revealing previewed the new Peugeot 207. Aspects of the 907's design have also made it into the Peugeot 407 Coupe, though there is one outstanding feature that is unlikely to make it into any Peugeot production car in the near future: a transparent bonnet section to allow admirers see the engine.
Concept cars don't often show off their non-existent powerplant, but the 907 has a 6-litre V12 petrol engine putting out 500bhp. Thanks to extensive use of carbon fibre, the 907 weighs only 1400kg, so performance on the Goodwood hill should be impressive if the driver is allowed to extend the concept.
Another concept on display is the more recent Peugeot 207 RCup, which previews the 207 GTi. Buyers will be pleased to see the regular production Peugeots on display too.
