Despite strong rumours of moving production overseas, Lotus has announced that it will build the keenly awaited Lotus Esprit replacement at its manufacturing plant in Hethel.
Thanks to "improving the efficiencies and flexibilities within the manufacturing facility over the last 18 months" the Hethel base was chosen by parent company Proton Holdings and the new car is due to go on sale early in 2008, which should mean we'll get our first glimpse of the car at the
2007 Geneva Motor Show.
A lot is already known about the Esprit replacement, including its likely use of a tuned BMW V8 and the
Lotus Versatile Vehicle Architecture previewed at the
