The current 'Mk2' Bentley Continental GT is a corking car and because it shares the same underpinnings as a Porsche Panamera, there's a new engine choice in town. It's the 550hp/770Nm 4.0-litre V8 that you'd find in a Pan Turbo and it's enough to propel either the Coupe V8 or the soft-top GTC V8 to 198mph; the slightly lighter tin-top'll hit 62mph from rest in 4.0 seconds dead, the heavier GTC adding a tenth of a second to that time. These V8 models are distinguished by their quad exhausts and V8 badging on the front wings, while they can shut down four of their cylinders when needs be to save fuel. We always thought the V8 S was the best Mk1 Conti, so we're looking forward to this one. A lot. Oh, and if that weren't enough, W12 models get some additional bits of equipment for the 2020 model year. The Coupe can be specified with a £3,150 Panoramic Glass Roof, which has polarised glass and an electrically operated blind with an Alcantara finish to match one of 15 headliner colours, while either version of the 6.0-litre Conti now has the option of High-Gloss Carbon Fibre, as a technical finish for the fascia and doors. Tick this box on the configurator and the centre console switches to a Piano Black Veneer.
