Barely have we digested official confirmation of the BMW M8, than the usual suite of M Performance upgrade parts have been announced for the 600-625hp Beemer. This follows on from similar announcements for the incoming 1 Series and X3 M/X4 M models. It's much the same story for the M-Powered Eight: carbon-fibre exterior bits and bobs, like the side sills, radiator grille, side gill repeaters and (not strictly exterior, but you get the idea...) the engine cover; an M Performance Pro Alcantara, leather and carbon-fibre steering wheel with carbon shift paddles, M-tricolour stitching and a blue 12 o'clock marker; M Performance velvet velour floor mats; and the option of a branded indoor car cover or wheel bags, in case you've got two sets of alloys for your ultimate 8 Series. Having said that, the M Performance sport brake pads - which claim to provide shorter braking distances, improved response and a higher thermal resistance (aka, better resistance to fade) - look a useful addition on machines that will weigh the best part of two tonnes and more.
