What's all this about?
Peugeot has announced the Partner Tepee Electric, for people who want a versatile and adaptable electric vehicle. The Tepee Electric will be launched officially at the Geneva Motor Show and sales are due to start in certain markets from September.
Is it still practical?
The electric drivetrain has not affected the carrying capacity; as with the petrol and diesel models there's a modular interior that can seat five or take up to 3,000-litres of luggage. It also comes with a four-litre glove compartment and 14-litres of storage space under the rear seat; in total the interior boasts 78-litres of stowage space.
What's under the bonnet?
Drive comes from a 67PS electric motor, which is powered by two lithium-ion battery packs either side of the rear suspension. The quoted range is 105 miles on the New European Driving Cycle while an optional rapid recharge mode can take the batteries to 80% in 30 minutes. A standard charge from a mains outlet can take between 8 and 15 hours.
Any interesting equipment?
A smartphone or tablet app can be used to set the heating or air-conditioning up to 30 minutes in advance. It is also possible to see the amount of battery charge and an estimated duration of the recharge.
Other items of standard equipment are; cruise control, tyre pressure monitor, manual climate control, two sliding side doors, and height-adjustable driver's seat. Some models come with a 7-inch touchscreen and a reversing camera is available as an option.
