What's all this about?
Honda has added an entry-level model to the Civic range, the 1.4-litre Civic Sport, which arrives in showrooms next month. With similar styling to the Civic Type R, the new variant has a list price of £18,360 and is available on PCP finance from £199 per month (with a £3,415 deposit and 5.9% APR over three years).
What do you get for the money?
The Civic Sport features a colour-coded rear spoiler, 17-inch alloy wheels and a mesh lower front grille; inside there is a black roof lining.
Under the bonnet is a 1.4-litre, single overhead camshaft i-VTEC petrol engine that develops 100hp and 127Nm of torque; carbon dioxide emissions are 131g/km.
How does it fit with the rest of the Civic range?
You can also get the Civic Sport with a 1.6-litre, 120hp diesel engine or 1.8-litre, 142hp petrol power. The Civic is also available in two other trim levels, SE and SR, in a revised UK range. Honda showed the next generation Civic in concept form at the Geneva Motor Show earlier in 2016, so you can expect to see it in UK showrooms at the start of 2017.
