What's all this about?
Volkswagen has given the Beetle range a makeover; the styling is updated and R-Line replaces 'Sport' in the model line-up. The changes apply to the whole line-up comprising the Coupé, Cabriolet and Dune crossover. Prices for the range start at £16,820 with the R-Line available from £23,540.
What's new?
Look out for the new bumpers, designed to sharpen the Beetle's appearance and include larger openings around the indicators and fog lamps. An entirely new bumper is fitted to R-Line models, which features extra air intakes on the upper edge.
Inside, there is new upholstery plus brighter instrument lighting. Design and R-Line versions get new dials and dashboard styling, too.
Tell me more about the R-Line.
As well as the new front bumper the Beetle R-Line comes with a body-colour rear diffuser, tailgate spoiler and chromed twin exhausts. The external mirrors and door protectors are finished in gloss black. Sports suspension is standard and there is a choice of two 18-inch alloy wheel designs at no extra cost.
'R-Line' logos feature throughout the interior, which is trimmed in 'Kyalami' cloth. Equipment levels include dual-zone climate control, ambient interior lighting and cruise control.
Power comes from the 2.0-litre, TDI 150hp engine with a choice of manual or DSG automatic transmissions.
