What's this?
Mercedes-Benz has released the first teaser of its soon-to-be-released C-Class Cabriolet. Pencilled in to make its official public debut at the Geneva Motor Show this new four-seat soft-top already has the makings of being a big hit for the three-pointed star.
A soft-top you say?
Yes, even though it isn't depicted in this sketch is it believed that the C-Class Cabriolet, much like the range-topping S-Class Cabriolet, will use a fabric folding roof. Not only does this help to keep weight down, it is a more traditional style that many Mercedes-Benz owners expect.
It will fold away into a separate compartment behind the rear passenger headrests and should still leave enough room in the boot for luggage. Buyers may also have the option of specifying the fabric roof in contrasting colours to the body work.
What other details have been revealed?
For now little else is officially known but do expect it to carry over most of, if not all, of the current engine line-up seen in the C-Class Coupé. This includes two petrol and two diesel engines along with manual and automatic transmissions.
Will there be an AMG version?
Given that there is already Mercedes-AMG variants of the C-Class Coupé, Estate and Saloon, it is highly likely that the Cabriolet will also get the twin-turbocharged V8 treatment. In more recent times the AMG models have been developed alongside the regular models so you may not have to wait very long before a Mercedes-AMG C-Class Cabriolet emerges.
