What's this then?
Good news, as Aston Martin's DB9 is finally driving off into a beautifully filtered sunset to make way for the new DB11. Don't get too excited just yet, as we've yet to see the new car, but Aston Martin promises it will be in showrooms late in 2016. It'll share styling elements with the DB10 concept that Bond will drive in the forthcoming Spectre film, though the word is it'll feature a more prominent grille and taller bonnet to fit a V12 in.
That, and all Aston Martin engines will be sourced from Mercedes-Benz's AMG division, though Aston is also likely to borrow some switchgear to keep the development costs sensible. Indeed, the British company is promising a revolution, the DB11 the first of an entirely new product range, which will likely incorporate a luxury GT crossover that's been hinted at by the DBX concept. Aston's design chief, Marek Reichman is promising that the new line-up will be more distinct, answering the criticism that the current range, while undeniably beautiful, are too close in appearance.
All this by the close of the decade is what's being promised, so Aston Martin certain to be a busy place for the next few years.
