What's all this about?
The Volkswagen Golf Cabriolet is getting an overhaul and the revised model will be on display at the Frankfurt Motor Show next month.
How has it changed from the old car?
It has a redesigned lower body for a start - the front bumper is apparently 'sportier', as are the accents on the rear bumper and the side sills - while six new exterior colours, six new wheel designs and a fresh soft-top hue are all on offer. The interior gets some extra upholstery choices, as well as new steering wheel designs and trim elements.
And under the bonnet?
The quad-petrol, twin-diesel line-up is now EU6 compliant and completely made up of direct injection turbo units. There's a 105hp 1.2 TSI, two 1.4 TSIs - one with 125hp and the other with 150hp, plus Cylinder-on-Demand technology - and the GTI, with 220hp from its 2.0-litre TSI engine. There's just one capacity of diesel, a 2.0-litre, which either makes 110- or 150hp. CO2 emissions range from 109g/km on the 110hp TDI model to 152g/km for the GTI.
Anything else updated?
As the Composition Colour and Composition Media infotainment systems are now included on the four-seat Golf Cabrio, various apps have been brought into the car's electronic fold, while Discover Media satellite navigation is also available.
