What's all this about?
Remember the Lamborghini Asterion LPI 910-4 plug-in hybrid (PHEV) revealed last year?
Of course - how could I forget that beast? What about it?
It's going to the Concours d'Elegance, held at the Villa d'Este on the shores of Italy's Lake Como, later this month.
Excellent, does that mean Lambo is going to build it?
Er, no, there's no indication of that as yet. The aim of this little jaunt is to see if the Asterion can win the prestigious Design Award for concept cars and prototypes.
Damn. Has anything changed with its motive power since last year?
Nope, but when you've got a mid-mounted 5.2-litre V10, three electric motors and 910hp going to all four wheels, why bother updating that? Especially when the staggering figures of the Asterion read 0-62mph in 3.0 seconds, top speed of 200mph, combined economy of up to 56mpg and CO2 emissions of just 98g/km. Lamborghini: put this thing into production. Quickly, please.
