Honda is treating Civic Type R fans to a fabulous trip to the Nürburgring in May, for a very reasonable €175 (around £127, at the time of writing) per person.
What's included in the outlay?
On May 15-17, the ADAC Zurich 24-hour sports car race will take place on the Nürburgring's combined, 15.5-mile-long GP-and-Nordschleife layout, with the weekend's action also including a round of the World Touring Car Championship - in which Team Castrol Honda competes. This three-day trip will see fans get VIP entrance tickets to the racing with paddock access, camping accommodation in a souvenir tent, all food and drink throughout the weekend, a hands-on encounter with the new Civic Type R, a tour of the garage and chance to meet the WTCC drivers at a special Q&A session.
Sounds excellent. But what if I want to lap the track myself?
Then a lucky few will be invited to thrash their Civics round the circuit before the 24-hour race gets under way.
Why here, particularly?
Come on, every self-respecting performance car in the world has to have a Nürburgring lap time to boast about. And the Civic Type R recently set the lap record for front-driven production cars here (video at the bottom), so the Nordschleife has special meaning for Honda.
How do I get myself onto this trip?
