What's this then?
This is the updated Hyundai ix20 - perhaps not the most exciting car at the Geneva Motor Show, but a solid family mover if ever there was one. It's been given a mild exterior facelift to bring it into line with the recently updated i40 and i30, while there are some tweaks to the petrol and diesel engines too.
Such as...
Those engines are now a 90hp 1.4-litre and 125hp 1.6-litre petrol (no sign of the new Hyundai-Kia 1.0-litre three-pot turbo yet) and 1.4 (in 77- and 90hp forms) and 1.6 diesels (115- and 128hp). Both of those have been tweaked to produce more torque than before while the petrols are claimed to be more efficient. There's a new six-speed automatic transmission as well, which replaces the old four-speed unit. Inside, the interior remains relatively unchanged, but now comes with an optional music system featuring a 1GB music storage hard drive and a new heated steering wheel. There's the option of a big glass roof too. Boot space, critical on cars like this, remains unchanged at 440 litres.
Two interior colours (Black and Two-Tone Beige) with cloth upholstery will be offered. Nine exterior colours are available: one solid colour (Polar White), six metallic colours (Platinum Silver, Micron Grey, Ultimate Red, Ash Blue, Ara Blue, Ruby Wine) and two pearl colours (Phantom Black and Thunder Grey).
