Audi has released initial UK pricing and specification details for its first ever SUV, the Q7. Customers can now walk into an Audi dealer and place an order, though first deliveries will not be before summer 2006.
At launch, there will just be two engine options: the evergreen 4.2-litre V8 petrol engine featuring Audi's proven direct-injection system, and the excellent 3-litre turbodiesel V6 unit. Performance won't be lacking, with the engines outputting 344bhp/325lb.ft and 229bhp/369lb.ft respectively. According to those figures there should not be much to choose between the engines.
V8 models are available in SE trim as standard, and S-line for an additional £900. The V6 TDI models cost £2,500 to upgrade to SE or £3,400 to S-line specification. It should be noted that all models sold in the UK will come with the seven-seat configuration and variable height adaptive air suspension as standard. The full price list is provided below:
