What's this then?
To mark Ferrari's 60th anniversary in North America it has gone back to the 1960s and produced a limited-edition, built-to-order run of cars called the F60America.
Looks like an F12 Spider to me.
It sort of is. Ferrari says the F60 combines two things that its American clientele love the most: open top motoring and a V12 soundtrack.
Ok, how much is this F12 Spider then?
$2.5 million apiece (or £1.56 million, which sounds a little more palatable...).
*Cough* *Splutter* How much?
The F60 is not something you are likely to see driving down the road too often. Built for the collector market, only 10 examples will be built, the same number that was built of the 275 GTS4 NART Spider after the American importer personally requested an open top version of the 275 GTB4 for the US market.
Ok, for that price I'm assuming it's not just a simple F12 Spider then.
The F60 America is quite special. Uniquely painted in the traditional North American Racing Team livery (think British Racing Green - only for America) the interior is also bespoke with the dashboard, central tunnel and door panels all finished in composite material, while the seats have an American flag motif at their centre. Ferrari says that every exterior panel is also unique with changes made for the open-top nature of the F60 and also aero parts added. It does use the same 6.3-litre V12 engine as the F12, but considering it produces 730hp that is no bad thing really.
Is Ferrari expecting to sell many of these things?
It already has. All 10 cars were sold by the time the F60 was unveiled at a special commemorative event at Beverly Hills City Hall. As I said, this has been produced with the collector in mind, and when you consider a GTB4 NART Spider recently sold for $27.5 million (£17.1 million), the F60's asking price seems good value.
