What's the news?
News filtering in from Down Under suggests the Toyota GT86 coupé is about to get some suspension revisions to sharpen up its drive.
Tetsuya Tada, the 86's global chief engineer, has apparently managed to achieve a set-up on the rear-drive coupé that balances a better ride with more entertaining handling, if such a thing was possible. Sadly, no news on an official supercharged model as yet to address its relative torque deficit...
New suspension mounts are fitted and the dampers have been revised with lower-friction oil, oil seals and guide bushings to control initial body movements when being driven hard.
Anything else?
Although we have no more specifics at the moment, a Toyota spokesman in this corner of the world would at least say these chassis modifications will be coming to our market later this year.
