There are cars and then there are dream cars. The latter is aptly named because only in some of our wildest dreams could we ever wish to drive one, let alone own one. But that shouldn't stop us drooling and lusting after these marvels of automotive engineering.
After all, when it comes to cars, most of us are doing pretty good if we own a BMW and can
afford the accompanying car maintenance by BMW, let alone any of these multi-million dollar beauties.
It should be noted that there are actually more expensive cars out there than our 10 but these tend to be classic cars that fetch ridiculous prices at auction and aren't
readily available.
10. Porsche 918 Spyder: $845,000
The first car on our list and the only one under $1 million, the Porsche 918 Spyder boasts an eye-watering 887hp and can do 0-62mph in 2.8 seconds - not bad for a hybrid car right?!
9. McLaren P1: $1.1 million
One of the only production cars to achieve 230mph, the McLaren P1 can be yours for just over one million dollars. With a 3.8-litre twin-turbo V8 engine the P1 puts out over 900hp and is
your very own road-going Formula One car.
8. Zenvo ST1: $1.2 million
Zenvo? This Danish car manufacturer may not be the most famous household name, but its ST1 is certainly one of the most expensive. Despite only a handful being made, the ones that have been feature a turbo- and supercharged 7.0-litre V8 engine and can do more than 230mph.
7. Maybach Landaulet: $1.25 million
If you fancy sipping expensive champagne in a semi-stretched limousine-style car that has a retractable roof then the Maybach Landaulet is just for you - providing you've got a spare $1.25 million that is!
6. Ferrari La Ferrari: $1.3 million
So good they named it twice! The Ferrari La Ferrari is the most expensive, yet bizarrely named car you could ever wish to own. However, at its core is, of course, a V12 lump thumping out over 700hp.
5. Lamborghini Reventon: $1.61 million
The Reventon is named after a famous fighting bull that killed an even more famous bullfighter. This raging bull of a car is capable of over 200mph and will propel you to 62mph in just 3.4 seconds.
4. Aston Martin One-77: $1.8 million
James Bond's favourite manufacturer, Aston Martin, has produced something very special in the One-77 and it comes with an equally special price tag of $1.8 million.
3. Koenigsegg One: $2.85 million
Weighing just 1,340kg and outputting 1,34hp, the Koenigsegg One has achieved a perfect 1:1 power-to-weight ratio. Does that make its near $3.0 million asking price justified? You decide.
2. Bugatti Veyron Mansory Vivere: $3.4 million
If you happen to have $3.4 million stuffed under your mattress then get it out and buy yourself a Bugatti Veyron Mansory Vivere. It's basically a very, very pretty Bugatti Veyron that has undergone a makeover by Swiss tuner Mansory.
1. Lamborghini Veneno: $4 million
This awesome, jaw-dropping car makes the Batmobile look ordinary. And at $4 million it's probably only Bruce Wayne that could afford one anyway. Maybe he's one of the people who have managed to get their hands on one of the three that have been produced.
