What's the news?

Range Rover's new Stealth Pack is so named though because it features satin-black, non-reflective finishing for the head- and taillight surrounds, vents (in the bonnet and front wings), boot strip, fog light surrounds and more. There are also matte-finish 21- or 22-inch alloy wheels. The rest of the car is bright white, which is not particularly stealthy. Unless you live in Nome, Alaska.

Gerry McGovern, Land Rover's Design Director & Chief Creative Officer, commented: "With the addition of the Stealth Pack, we are further extending the appeal of the Range Rover Sport and offering even greater choice to our customers."

The Stealth Pack can be fitted to any current Range Rover Sport with either HSE Dynamic or Autobiography Dynamic trims, from the 292hp SDV6 diesel right up to the whopping 510hp supercharged V8 petrol model. The extra cost is 1,700 with the 21-inch wheels or 2,500 with the 22-inch ones. Potential customers will get their first look at the car at the Goodwood Festival of Speed, in ten days' time.

Anything else?

The first true 'stealth' aircraft, the top-secret USAF 'Have Blue' prototype was effectively invisible to radar but crashed because it was so unstable in the air. Presumably, thanks to suspension with "dramatically improved on-road driving dynamics, with more connected and agile handling, complemented by enhanced ride and refinement" the same fate will not befall a Range Rover Sport Stealth.
