What's the news?
Aston Martin has announced a multi-million pound investment to expand production within Britain. It comes at the same time as a recruitment drive that will see the creation of 250 new positions in Gaydon.
The jobs are in engineering, manufacturing and commercial roles that are being created over the coming months. According to the company's Chief Financial Officer, Hanno Kirne, the next few years will see the greatest investment programme in Aston's 101-year history. Nearly £500 million is being spent on the next generation of vehicles.
Anything else?
Aston Martin is also continuing its apprenticeship programme to develop the next generation of manufacturing staff. Over 500 applications have been received for the next round of the scheme, competing for one of the 12 places available.
