What's the news?
Lexus appears to be ditching the radical surfacing and detailing of its LF-NX concept car in a bid to make sure its forthcoming NX crossover appeals to all tastes. That's the conclusion following the release of a single teaser image of the new SUV. The new Lexus NX makes its world debut at the Beijing Motor Show this month.
The NX will almost certainly be the first car to get Lexus' new 2.0-litre turbo petrol engine, presumably within a hybrid drivetrain package. The LF-NX concept version debuted that very engine so it's reasonable to assume that the production version will feature it too. There is no word as yet of a diesel version for oil-burning European customers, but given Lexus' usual hatred of diesel and the impressive performance of such as the current IS 300, we doubt that any DERV-sipping NX will be made available.
Anything else?
Hall W3 at the China International Exhibition Centre, Beijing is the place to be if you want to be among the first to see the new NX.
