What's the news?
Lexus has announced that the upcoming Frankfurt Motor Show will play host to the world debut of a new concept vehicle. A teaser image released with the announcement gives us our first look at the concept and while it does not give much away, Lexus' trademark spindle grille and a steeply raked LED headlight are shown.
There are some suggestions that the concept will take the form of a compact SUV that will sit below the RX in the manufacturer's line-up. Recent trademark filings in the United States show both the NX 200t and NX 300h nameplates leading to speculation of versions powered by a turbocharged 2.0-litre petrol and one powered by the 2.5-litre hybrid system from the IS 300h.
As with all Lexus concepts, the car will be badged as an LF (Lexus Future) when it is unveiled on September 10.
Anything else?
The new concept will make its debut next to the new full hybrid GS 300h saloon, which will be shown for the first time in Europe ahead of its introduction towards the end of the year.
