Good news for those who find the 660bhp of their Ferrari Enzo insufficient: Ferrari will be making a limited batch of breathed on Enzos. The special model, known as the FXX, packs 800bhp courtesy of an upgraded 6.3-litre V12 (that's 127bhp per litre!). Only 20 of the cars will be made selling for an eye watering £1.2 million.
Equally eye watering will be the performance with 0-60mph in less than 3 seconds and a sub-six second run to 100mph altogether realistic thanks to the power hike and a faster shift program in the paddle operated sequential 'box. Improvements aren't just in terms of straight-line capability either as an upgraded aerodynamic package yields a gain of 40% in downforce when compared to the normal car.
Unfortunately the FXX won't be homologated for road use (note the lack of rear lights for a start), but Ferrari will be offering a series of track days for owners to stretch their steed's legs. To this end the seats and pedals will be modified to provide the perfect settings for each owner/driver.
The screening process for prospective owners is likely to be very tough with the Ferrari board members personally screening each application. Deliveries to those 20 lucky bast... individuals start at the end of the year.
