The Ford Mondeo has been updated with a new Graphite entry-level model and Titanium X Business Edition aimed at company car drivers. Models with the 2.0-litre Duratorq diesel engine now benefit from increased fuel economy and lower emissions.
Retail customers are the target for the Ford Mondeo Graphite, which starts at £15,995. Exterior features include 17-inch alloy wheels, LED daytime running lights and a rear spoiler. Inside there is air conditioning, a CD/MP3 audio system and Bluetooth hands free including voice control.
Ford has introduced the Titanium X Business Edition, priced from £21,995, following the success of the Mondeo Zetec Business Edition, which is still available. The new trim level is £1,500 cheaper than the old Mondeo Titanium X but expected to achieve better resale values thanks to increased equipment levels. Leather upholstery, a seven-inch touch screen navigation system and DAB radio with USB connectivity are all part of the standard specification.
Changes to the Mondeo's aerodynamics and improvements to the engine management system have improved the 2.0-litre Duratorq diesel's CO2 emissions. The 140- and 163hp models now produce 119g/km (120g/km for the estate) with fuel economy improved from 57.6- to 61.4mpg. These figures apply to all manual models except the Mondeo Titanium X Sport.
