What's the news?
Smart has produced the edition21, a limited edition version of the fortwo available with low cost finance and one year's free insurance (subject to age and driving history). Both coupé and cabriolet body styles are offered with prices starting at £9,575.
Exterior
As standard the 'tridion' safety cell is painted black with a choice of black or white body panels; a white-painted safety cell is an option. Fifteen-inch alloy wheels are fitted in a three double spoke design. To confirm the model's status there are 'edition21' logos on the body in front of the mirrors.
Interior
The edition21 comes with black fabric/leather-look upholstery. Genuine leather covers the steering wheel and shift paddles are fitted, as is a 'handy cup holder'.
Mechanicals
Power comes from the 72hp 'micro hybrid drive' engine. Official performance figures for the fortwo coupé are 0-62mph in 13.7 seconds and a top speed of 90mph. Combined cycle fuel economy is 67.3mpg and the CO2 emissions figure is 97g/km.
Anything else?
The cost of buying the edition21 can be spread over three years; with a £1,999 customer deposit and a £722 retailer contribution the Smart costs £79 per month with an optional purchase payment of £4,010.
