What's the news?
Suzuki GB will be launching another limited edition Swift this week - after the SZ-L was released earlier this month. The new SZ-R will hit showrooms on Friday (1st March) and is strictly limited to a production run of 100 cars.
Exterior
The standard body kit fitted to the SZ-R comes straight from the Swift Sport. The special edition comes with a Cosmic Black paint finish featuring a contrasting roof, spoiler and door mirrors in Ablaze Red. As well as this, each SZ-R model comes with bespoke badging, rear privacy glass and 17-inch alloy wheels. HID Projector headlamps have also been fitted as standard.
Interior
Stepping inside, there is a distinct familiarity to the Swift Sport in terms of styling. Unique for the SZ-R are numbered kick plates, red floor mats and a red gear lever. Like the styling, standard equipment is carried over from the Sport too. Auto air conditioning, Bluetooth and cruise control all come at no extra cost and there's a healthy options list for those who want more.
Mechanicals
The SZ-R is powered by Suzuki's 136hp, 1.6-litre petrol engine; giving a 0-62mph time of 8.7 seconds and a top speed of 121mph. Fuel economy sits at a respectable 44.1mpg on the combined cycle.
To keep occupants protected, seven airbags have been fitted as standard.
Anything else?
Despite the low production level, the Swift SZ-R costs £14,249, just £500 more than the Sport on which it is based.
