A convertible version of the all-new 2014 Corvette Stingray is due to be launched at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show.
Apart from the missing roof, the convertible Corvette is said to look identical to the hardtop. Chevrolet also assures us that the lack of roof won't affect the new model's handling or performance.
"Every Corvette is designed at the outset as an open car," remarks Tadge Juechter, Corvette's Chief Engineer. "Both the coupé and convertible versions are designed to excel in any situation."
Susan Docherty, President and Managing Director of Chevrolet and Cadillac Europe says, "Corvette is the face of Chevrolet the world over. It is an icon that has long been recognised and admired even in countries where it's never officially been offered."
According to Chevrolet, there are Corvette owners and enthusiast groups in over 100 countries; and 58 per cent of fans on Corvette's official Facebook page live outside of the US.
The date for the Corvette Stingray convertible's Geneva launch has been set as 5th March. More details are to follow...
