Infiniti has now confirmed that the replacement for its G50 saloon will be showcased at the upcoming Detroit Auto Show. The new model, the Q50, is the first car to sport Infiniti's simpler naming strategy.
The official teaser picture of the Q50 doesn't give too much away about the finished design; although the headlight does contain styling cues from the units found on the concept model. If the rest of the car follows suit, then we could see a drastic change from the design of the current G-line, including a new Lexus-style spindle-shaped grille.
As you would expect, no interior or engine details have been given; although Infiniti President, Johan de Nysschen, has hinted at an engine for the upcoming Q70 model. The Q70 sits above the Q50 and Q60 in the range and will replacing the current M56 model. The rumoured V6 engine is said to feature forced induction and a power output of more than 550hp - creating a potential rival to the BMW M5.
