What's the news?
Suzuki has updated the Grand Vitara for 2013 with styling changes and lower emissions for the 1.9-litre diesel engine.
Exterior
The front gets a restyled bumper and grille with a more angular appearance. Five-door SZ5 models get black accents for the inner headlamps. At the back a temporary use spare wheel is mounted on the rear door, increasing overall length by 200mm. The spare wheel has been introduced in response to customer demand and replaces the puncture repair system.
Interior
New seat trim is fitted to the SZ3 (three-door) and SZ4 (three- and five-door) versions. The SZ5 five-door model comes with a 6.1-inch touchscreen navigation system powered by Garmin. As well as navigation the system provides in-car entertainment including CD, radio, USB connection and Bluetooth.
Mechanicals
Changes to the emissions control system means the 1.9 DDiS diesel engine now emits less CO2, down from 179- to 174g/km. The reduction is enough to change the VED classification to band H, saving £20 per year at current rates.
Anything else?
Prices for the updated Suzuki Grand Vitara range start at £15,995 for the SZ3 1.6 in three-door guise.
