Toyota Motorsport GmbH (TMG), Toyota's German subsidiary that, amongst other things, looks after the firm's TS030 Le Mans car, has released images of the TMG 650 - a high performance concept car based on the Lexus LS.
This car was actually spotted lapping the Nürburgring earlier this year but with no more than grainy images there was little to tell. Now however, via an official post on the TMG Facebook page, we can tell you that the TMG Sports 650 is powered by a 650hp bi-turbo 5.0-litre V8 engine. This is mated to an eight-speed automatic transmission that has been specially beefed up to cope with the 710Nm of torque that the engine can produce.
With BMW rumoured to be considering an M7 model, could the time be right for Lexus to release a high performance version of the LS saloon?
