What's the news?
Lexus has announced that it's introducing a new entry-spec model to its CT 200h hatchback in an attempt to broaden its market appeal. The CT 200h is also receiving changes to its existing model range.
Exterior
The new 'S' model features specially designed 15-inch alloy wheels and a larger rear spoiler than the next level SE model. These new aerodynamically efficient features help contribute to a low emissions figure of just 87g/km.
Interior
While no details have been given regarding interior trim and equipment levels on the new S model, small changes have been made across the rest of the range. The updated Premier model (replacing SE-L Premier) receives a DAB stereo and an electrically operated passenger seat. F Sport trim also gains the electric passenger seat, but now comes with Smart Entry and Start; as does the Luxury model (formerly the SE-L). The SE replaces the SE-I and is now fitted with electric folding mirrors.
The optional satellite navigation option on SE, Luxury and F Sport trim levels now comes with the DAB radio and DVD player options fitted as standard to Premier grade cars.
Mechanicals
The 1.8-litre petrol-electric hybrid system is still the only powertrain available for the CT 200h. This unit produces 134hp and returns a claimed 68mpg. Safety features include eight airbags and a stability control system (VSC) as standard.
Anything else?
The new base-level CT 200h S goes on sale priced from £21,995; with top-spec Premier models costing from £30,995. The revised model range is available to order now.
