Following on from Aston Martin's video release of its new Vanquish 'Super GT' model this week the company has now set about bringing the Vanquish to the streets of the UK.
Having set off on Monday, the car will be travelling across the country visiting the brand's 21-strong dealer network from Edinburgh in the north, down to Jersey in the south. Don't expect to see spy shots or videos of the car hitting the web though, as the car will be travelling in a specially-made truck complete with Aston Martin Vanquish branding. The tour will take a total of 26 days to complete, with the first stop being the Newport Pagnell showroom in Buckinghamshire.
Those lucky enough to see the Vanquish up close will be able to do so by invitation only - and they can also place an order for the £189,995 model.
Viewers will also get a glimpse of the car's new 6.0-litre V12 powerplant, which develops 570hp and 620Nm of torque. These figures help the Vanquish slingshot from 0-62mph in 4.1 seconds and onto a top speed of 183mph. They will be able to experience a new cabin design and a boot that is 60% larger than that of the DBS.
"The level of interest in the new Vanquish has inspired this tour," comments Mark Kenworthy, Aston's General Manager of Sales and Aftersales in the UK. "Those lucky enough to see the car up close over the coming days will be thrilled by it."
For those not able to see the car as it goes on tour, all is not lost. By simply tweeting a picture of the truck using the hashtag '#vanquishtour', you will automatically be 'followed' by the official Aston Martin Twitter account.
First deliveries of the new Vanquish will begin late this year.
