What's the news?
Alfa Romeo has introduced the option of TwinAir power for the MiTo. The downsized engine is offered in two trim levels: Sprint and Distinctive.
Exterior
A new exterior colour, Ametista Black with a hint of purple, is offered on the TwinAir models. Sprint trim includes 16-inch alloy wheels and front fog lamps. Distinctive models get 17-inch alloys, red brake callipers, rear parking sensors and chrome/aluminium detailing.
Interior
No details are available but Alfa Romeo promises 'a completely revamped interior'.
Mechanicals
The 0.9-litre, turbocharged engine develops 85hp and 145Nm of torque. The latter is developed between 2,000- and 3,500rpm with drive going through a six-speed gearbox. Stop-start is fitted to reduce fuel consumption.
Anything else?
Carbon dioxide emissions for the MiTo TwinAir are 98g/km with fuel consumption of 67.3mpg. Alfa Romeo hopes those numbers will attract company car drivers. Official performance figures are 0-62mph in 12.5 seconds and a top speed of 108mph. Prices start at £14,150 for the Sprint - add £1,200 for the Distinctive model.
