The Autosport International Show was not just about racing machinery. Porsche showed the 918 RSR concept for the first time in the UK and the latest 911 also made its UK motor show debut.
First seen as the 918 Spyder at the
2010 Geneva Motor Show, the 918 is a mid-engined test-bed for the company's flywheel hybrid technology. Since then the model has been confirmed for production in 2013 and reworked as a hard-top coupé that was unveiled last year at the
Detroit Auto Show. The 918 RSR takes its styling cues from Porsche's historic endurance racing cars of the 1960s and 1970s.
The
latest Porsche 911 has been on sale since 17 December. It features the latest direct-injection 3.4-litre flat-six and a choice of PDK transmission or a seven-speed manual gearbox.
