What is it?
An SLS minus the roof. The Roadster been on the cards for a while, having made its first, brief public appearance during an advert at the Superbowl earlier in the year. It has all the same mod cons as the hard-top version - a 563bhp, 6.3-litre AMG V8 being the most interesting of the lot.
Why's it here?
It's ready for production and we're lucky enough to be driving it for the first time next week. The existing SLS is a real halo car for Merc, so the addition of a roofless version is the icing on the cake.
Show stopper or floor filler?
It's no far-out concept, nor is it really anything more than a convertible variant of an existing model, but the SLS Roadster is still a stunning and mightily powerful supercar. Roll on next week.
