Aston Martin looks to have made 007's life a little bit more difficult with some upcoming additions to the secret agent's favourite car. After the success of the first Aston Martin DBS Black Carbon Edition the Gaydon-based manufacturer will add two further colours to the range following a launch at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Joining the Carbon Black, launched in 2009, in the Carbon Edition are Flame Orange and Ceramic Grey all of which will be available in either coupé or Volante (convertible) body styles.

As the name would suggest the special edition DBS features a liberal smattering of carbon fibre with the front splitters, wing mirror covers, rear diffuser and rear light infills all displaying the telltale weave of the lightweight material. The DBS Carbon Edition also hosts a range of model specific parts including 10-spoke diamond-turned alloy wheels in gloss black and black brake callipers. However, should the customer please, those wheels can be reverse diamond turned or even gloss black and will house brake callipers in yellow, orange, grey or red. Customers can also specify a satin lacquer finish to be applied to the Carbon Edition's seven layers of paint to create a 'silk-like' texture.

A carbon fibre dashboard fascia with fibres laid individually by hand separates the Carbon Edition from the standard DBS and is joined by similar detailing on the door handles and the paddles that operate the Touchtronic gearbox. Swathes of soft-touch leather in either Obsidian Black or Maranello Orange complete the interior of the Volante with the coupé going one step further with a quilted leather headlining.

DBS Carbon Edition prices start at £186,582 for the coupé and £196,581 for the Volante with customer deliveries expected from quarter one 2012.
