California based auto maker, Fisker Automotive, has released a teaser sketch of its new car ahead of a global reveal at the
Frankfurt Motor Show. This image, the only information available from Fisker for the moment, would appear to show a 'shooting brake' variant of the upcoming Karma four-door luxury saloon - not too dissimilar to the
Ferrari FF.
Said to appeal to those with an active lifestyle the Surf, much like the Fisker Karma, is an electric vehicle with extended range (EVer). If the Karma drivetrain is to be shared with the new car then expect to see a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine charging a 22 kWh lithium ion battery that in turn powers two electric motors that combine to produce over 400bhp and nearly 1,000lb.ft of torque. In light of recent announcements from Fisker the new Surf may well use a BMW engine in place of the GM Ecotec unit.
Fisker is hoping to wow audiences with the Surf, a car it says combines head-turning design with the company's philosophy of 'Pure Driving Passion' and 'Uncompromised Responsible Luxury', but we will have to wait until the covers are removed at 09.30 on Tuesday September 13 to find out what all that means...
