Detroit 2004 heralded the debut of the outrageous Chrysler ME12 supercar concept. Few of us thought that it would make it into production, though Chrysler wanted to make it. At
this year's show, a much more commercially feasible, but no less exciting concept will be revealed - the Firepower.
Based on the new and improved Dodge Viper, the Firepower packs a 6.1-litre V8 from the HEMI family of engines. Not many other details are available yet, but don't expect this Chrysler to be an uncouth muscle car - Chrysler want it to be seen as a grand tourer, so expect exquisite attention to detail to go along with the aggressive lines. Watch out for the full photograph gallery in January.
