Suzuki has expanded the Swift range with the new, diesel powered, DDiS.
On sale from 1st June, it comes with an updated 1.3-litre, 74bhp engine. Compared to the unit in the previous-generation Swift it is said to be smoother and more responsive than before. With 140lb.ft of torque the claimed 0-62mph time is 12.7 seconds.
There is an 8% improvement in fuel economy compared to its predecessor; on the EU combined cycle the Swift manages 67.3mpg. Carbon dioxide emissions are 9% better at 109g/km, which means a year's VED will cost just £20.
Priced at £12,890 in five-door SZ3 specification, the Swift 1.3 DDiS comes with seven airbags, air conditioning and 16-inch alloy wheels as standard.
