Nissan showed its new Tone model at the
Paris Show and then announced its intentions to build the new model in the UK.
The Sunderland plant has turned out to be one of Nissan's most productive plants globally and the workforce's endeavours have been rewarded with this decision. The Tone itself takes many styling cues from the Qashqai concept, whilst also bearing a strong resemblance to its close relative, the Renault Modus. The high roofline and wheel-at-each-corner design promises excellent benefits in terms of roominess and packaging.
The Tone looks to be a roomy five seater aimed at transporting two parents and their children in safety, comfort and style whilst offering a strong fun factor - a grown up
Micra. The most novel feature is the twin seams of glass in the roof allowing light in, and a unique view out. The Tone goes on sale in 2006.
