Vauxhall has secured a deal to continue van production at its Luton factory and safeguard more than 1,000 jobs.
The Luton plant has been announced as the place where the next generation of Opel/Vauxhall Vivaro vans will be made.
More than 1.25 million Vivaro and Trafic vans have been built since its introduction in 2001 and the new model will keep the Luton factory in full production when build of the new Vivaro begins in 2013.
A Vauxhall source told us: "This is extremely good news for the Luton plant and again shows British car workers are among the best in Europe."
