Tuning company G-Power has announced a more powerful, restyled BMW X6 M.
With 715bhp there is 168bhp more power than the standard X6 M. Torque is said to be limited to 656lb.ft to protect the standard transmission though a reinforced gearbox is available, permitting torque to be increased to 738lb.ft. A new engine management map, 'optimised' channels between the turbochargers and cylinder heads and sports catalytic converters all contribute to increase the engine's output.
The result of the modifications are claimed performance figures including 0-62mph in 4.2 seconds and a top speed of 'more than 186mph'.
Restyling the X6 M with the 'Typhoon S' body kit starts with a new front bumper and air dam. This incorporates large air intakes and is said to reduce aerodynamic lift. A ventilated, carbon fibre bonnet is designed to help dissipate the heat generated by the tuned engine. Sill extensions are fitted, bridging the gap between the wheel arches. Carbon fibre is used for the rear diffuser, which frames the four 125mm exhaust pipes.
Three-part, forged alloy wheels help fill the wheel arches. Measuring 23 inches the alloys are wrapped in 315/25 ZR23 Michelin tyres.
Customers can choose which parts of the package to purchase. Prices for the various elements are £6,089 for the Typhoon S styling package; £7,723 for the wheels and tyres; and the G-Power engine and exhaust upgrade package starts at £11,782.
