What is it?
This is the second car to come from the small time German hypercar specialist. It's a little softer than the Apollo supercar and promises more space and practicality. There's still an Audi-sourced 4.9-litre V8 engine with 690bhp and 664lb.ft of torque, though.
Why's it here?
The Gumpert Tornante has been designed in association with Italian coachbuilder Touring Superleggera, supposedly born out of a meeting at last year's Geneva Motor Show. There's also talk of an 'alternative powered' version - probably a petrol-electric hybrid.
Show stopper or floor filler?
If obscure, hardcore supercars are your thing then the Tornante is right up your street. Equally, Gumpert Apollo fans who find it just a little too hardcore will no doubt be attracted to the Tornante. The company plans to put it into production in 2012 and hopes to sell 30-50 cars a year.
