Cadillac's vision of city car sophistication has scissor doors. This is the Urban Luxury Concept, unveiled in jpeg format prior to its
Los Angeles Auto Show debut.
Luxury comes with a 1.0-litre three-pot engine that squeezes 78 miles from a gallon of unleaded. It's a sort of hybrid too, using a small electric motor of unknown output to assist the engine.
It has start-stop and power is transmitted to the huge motor show spec wheels (19-inch) through a twin-clutch automatic transmission.
It's about the same length as a MINI, but seems to have more rear legroom and the cabin is, true to the name, awash with luxury features such as leather seats, wood trim and aluminium switchgear.
No word on production or price as yet, though there may be an announcement at the show. Or, more likely, something wishy-washy about 'future design'.
