What is it?
The Venturi America is part sports car, part beach buggy. And it's electric. Venturi, you may remember, gave us the Fetish electric sports car at Geneva 2002. The same 300bhp-plus electric drivetrain from that goes into this.
Why's it here?
To remind everyone that Venturi makes electric cars. The 54kWh battery pack gives the America a 180-mile range, thanks in part to a lightweight carbon monocoque chassis.
Show stopper or floor filler?
It's an interesting aside, but a show stopper? Nah, especially as it's located right next to the massive Lotus display. It won't get anywhere near production either, which we reckon is confirmed by the fact Venturi says reams about the car without actually saying anything. It offers "unique driving pleasure comprised of precision, acceleration and gliding," for example. Next.
