What is it?
The 2011 Nissan GT-R. It's quietly tucked away on the Nissan stand, hiding behind all the new green metal and mainstream models in Paris. Details are scant, with nobody authorised to reveal any official information, but the word is that the new GT-R will be even faster than ever thanks to a 40-50bhp boost in power, better aerodynamics and revised suspension and brakes.
Why's it here?
Because it's ready to roll, though Nissan isn't due to officially reveal details for another few weeks. Given the environmental focus of the rest of the Nissan stand the GT-R's presence might seem a touch incongruous, but along with the improved performance we hear there's a boost in economy and emissions, too.
Show stopper or floor filler?
It might not look radically different, but LED daytime running lamps, a better quality interior, better aerodynamics as well as all the changes to the drivetrain and suspension should see the GT-R re-affirm its position as the supercar slayer of choice. Particularly among those buyers who like their sports cars rich in technology and with utter disrespect for established reputations.
