Although the
Geneva Motor Show hosted the world debut of Lexus' new compact, it comes a lot closer to buyers' driveways at the
Paris Motor Show next month and with first media drives happening shortly afterwards it's unsurprising that Lexus is keen to drum up a little interest. The latest press release focuses on the driving experience.
That's not to say that Lexus bores us with spring rates, anti-roll bar diameters or rebound efficiencies. Oh no, this piece of high summer news details the driving position and how it should make the CT feel like the sportiest car in the Lexus line-up - except for the
IS F, naturally. Or the
LFA for that matter...
Anyway, Lexus' engineers have apparently set the driver's 'hip point' as close to the car's centre of gravity as possible, i.e. low down. To ensure that he/she can still see out, the bonnet line was dropped. That in turn required reworking of what's under the bonnet to conform to pedestrian protection legislation.
Oh and the seats are supposedly as supportive as those in the IS F, while the steering wheel promises to be sporty with a 'wide grip cross-section'.
Roll on our First Drive in October...
