Sportec is no stranger to the exclusive Salon Privé show; last year the SPR1 made its UK debut at the Hurlingham club. For 2010 it is back with an improved model; the SPR1R.
While the T80M engine is carried over - a 3.6-litre, 24-valve, bi-turbo, flat-six - its 846bhp now has less weight to move. According to Sportec 50kg has been shed, taking the overall weight to 1,295kg. That translates to a claimed 0-62mph time of just three seconds and 186mph comes up in 18.9 seconds - although the 'over 236mph' top speed remains unchanged.
Standard equipment includes adjustable traction control and an on-board data logger. These functions are accessed by touch screen in the centre console, which also provides real time engine data. There are 20-inch alloy wheels, Sportec styling touches and a leather/Alcantara interior.
The Salon Privé show runs from 21 to 23 July.
