Lexus has again confirmed itself as a favourite with its owners as it finished top of the league table for the tenth year in a row in the J.D. Power and Associates/What Car? 2010 UK Vehicle Ownership Satisfaction Study (VOSS). The study of more than 17,200 UK motorists gives a comprehensive 300 million-mile test drive. This year 104 models from 27 manufacturers were rated, with every aspect of owning them rated. Owners were asked to score in the following four areas: vehicle appeal, quality and reliability, ownership costs and quality of service from dealers.
The Lexus RX finished first with an overall score of 86.7 percent with the Jaguar XF and Lexus IS joint second, with 83.9 percent (each). Lexus was also leader in the manufacturers' league table taking an overall score of 84.6 percent followed by Honda in second place with 82.5 percent and Jaguar in third with 81.8 percent. This was a jump of three places for Jaguar from 2009 due to very satisfied customers of the XF. Honda has remained in the top five since 2002.
Suzuki, Fiat and Chevrolet are bottom of the league table with owners having a range of gripes with their cars.
The study is a must read for anybody considering changing their car and can be found at
