The new Fiesta S1600 probably sounds more exotic than it actually is. Rather than the rally-bred shopping lunatic its nomenclature conjures up images of, it's actually a well-specced Zetec S with stripes.
Still, a well-specced Zetec S with stripes is a lovely car in anyone's book. Particularly when there's an added exclusivity bonus - only 650 will be made. Each costs £16,665, a £1,020 premium over the standard car.
For that you get heated leather sports seats, leather for the steering wheel, gear knob and handbrake, and a special set of branded floor mats. They'll be a lot nicer than the cheapo ones a dealer normally throws in.
And as you can see from the pictures that's not all, for outside its gets the full skirts and spoilers treatment, as well as a set of white 17-inch alloys. Two colours are available - white or blue - each with a set of contrasting 'viper stripes'.
Power options begin with the 94bhp 1.6-litre TDCi diesel engine and end with the 118bhp Duratec petrol unit. A Mountune performance upgrade is on the way, but its scope and price are yet to be announced.
The Fiesta S1600 is available to order now.
