Brackley importer APS has announced two tuning packages for the Audi RS6 from Swiss tuner Sportec. Available in two guises, the conversion builds on the 572bhp and 479lb.ft of the standard 5.0-litre V10 RS6.

Stage One, 'for those with milder tastes' (not our words), is an ECU remap that takes power to 650bhp and twist to 540lb.ft from 2,500rpm. The top speed limiter remains at 190mph, but the 0-62mph dash takes just 4.4 seconds in this form. That one costs 2,800 fitted.

However, for those of less mild predilections there's the Stage Two. It boosts the RS6's output to 700bhp and 584lb.ft, dropping the 0-62mph time down by another 0.2 seconds to 4.2. That costs 6,500, but as well as a chip remap it adds a new sports catalyst to the exhaust system. The remap affects the turbo boost and fuel mapping.

But why stop there? Sportec will shortly launch a nice line in alloys, brake and suspension upgrades for the RS6.
